Solanke and Mulgrew could take Swansea to the next level

Solanke and Mulgrew could take Swansea to the next level - Swansea City

Swansea City have been a mixed bag under Graham Potter in recent times as they continue to slip away from a play-off place.

The Swans will need to start improving if they are to get anything out of the current campaign as they seem to have dropped off the pace recently after a promising win against Millwall.

Indeed, the Welsh club have certainly had positives to take away from games this season, but a number of changes still need to be made to iron out any underlying issues.

So, the January transfer window could prove vital come the end of the season, with a couple of quality signings possibly launching them into play-off contention.

With that in mind, here’s a look at TWO January signings that would take Swansea City to the next level…

Dominic Solanke

The forward has struggled to earn any minutes for the Reds in the Premier League this season as he continues to stagnate behind the scenes at Anfield, despite being linked with a number of moves away during the summer.

Swansea City are lacking any real back-up cover for Oliver McBurnie, so they could be screwed if he was to suffer an injury at some point this season, which is why the Swans should move for an exciting forward like Solanke.

Charlie Mulgrew

The versatile Scotsman has been one of Blackburn Rovers’ standout performers this season, with his set-piece abilities and defensive quality shining through at Ewood Park.

Although, the Swans are still yet to bring in a replacement for summer departure Federico Fernandez, so they’ll desperately need to bring in reinforcements in January. And, having witnessed Charlie Mulgrew’s ability to find the back of the net and no nonsense defending, it looks like he would be the perfect addition.
