Swansea City considering move for Premier League veteran

Swansea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern have been dancing on the tables this evening, mainly down to the TT Ale, however they have another reason to be celebrating. And here’s a clue, the dance they’re all doing is the robot…

Reports from the South Wales Evening Post are claiming Swansea City are eyeing up a £3m move for Stoke City striker Peter Crouch.

The ex-Southampton man has fallen down the pecking order at The Bet 356 Stadium, and would reportedly be available for a move this transfer window.

The Swans are looking to add firepower upfront, with Andre Ayew reportedly heading to West Ham, and Bafetimbi Gomis heading out on loan to Marseille.

Francesco Guidolin will turn to the ex-England international who has more than enough experience having played for 12 different clubs including the likes of Tottenham, Liverpool and Southampton.

He’s scored a total of 187 goals in 639 appearances during his club career, and boasts an impressive record at international level with England bagging 22 goals in 42 games.

The giant forward has one year left on his deal with The Potters, but could be tempted by an offer to play Premier League football more regularly after making just 18 appearances last season, 9 of which were as a substitute.

Swansea are considering other options though, recently credited with an interest in Leonardo Ulloa and Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente.

What are your thoughts Swansea Fans? Would you like to see the 6ft 7 inch striker upfront next season? Or are Crouch’s best days behind him? Let us know in the comments below!
