Swansea City are quietly going about their business in the transfer market, with the Welsh punters in the Transfer Tavern excited about the prospect of a whole season under the stewardship of Francesco Guidolin.
According to reports from L’Equipe (via the South Wales Evening Post), Bafetimbi Gomis’ loan move from Swansea City to Marseille is being held up by the players sky-high wage demands.
It has been thought for a while that the Frenchman’s future lay elsewhere after a difficult season under first team coach, Alan Curtis who confirmed last week that the player could leave ‘imminently’.
The 30-year old did not travel to the U.S for the Swans’ pre-season tour which has only heightened the rumours that he is to depart.
It is unknown at this time whether the potential loan move would have an option to buy at the end of it, as Curtis has made it all too clear to the player that he is surplus to requirements at the club.
