Swansea City failed to secure a positive result at the weekend as they were beaten convincingly by Bristol City in front of home support at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans will still feel as if they can secure a play-off spot in the current campaign, but they’ll need to improve if this is to happen as they’ve only won one of their last four Championship fixtures.
Interestingly, it appears as if one of the club’s star performers is attracting interest, as according to reliable journalist Alan Nixon’s personal Twitter account, Aston Villa will target a move for Mike van der Hoorn in the summer.
VILLA. Apart from Joe Lolley … van der Hoorn at SWANSEA was a window target and will be again in the summer when he is free. Swans wanted too much for him last week.

Indeed, it’s understood that the central defender was a target for the Villains back in the January transfer window but they didn’t want to pay the asking price.
So, it now looks as if they’ll go back in for him in the summer when he’s free, unless he manages to agree a new deal at the Liberty Stadium before then.
Mike van der Hoorn, who is valued at £2.25 million (by Transfermarkt), has been simply sensational at the heart of the defence in the Championship this season, as he continues to put in quality performances.
The central defender could still sign a new deal before the end of the season, but that may not even stop the likes of Aston Villa and other clubs from trying to sign him.
