TT Battle: Dwight Gayle vs Salomon Rondon

West Bromwich Albion supporters will be wanting a lot more from their players from here on in until the end of the season, as they’re currently a long way off reaching their full potential.

Although, one player who’s always been on top form in the current campaign is Dwight Gayle. The striker has spearheaded the Baggies’ promotion push this season and he still has a big part to play from here on in.

However, with Salomon Rondon returning from his loan spell at Newcastle in the summer and Gayle heading back to the Magpies, we took a look at who would be the better striker option for the Baggies…

Dwight Gayle, who is valued at £10.8 million (by Transfermarkt), has been one absolute fire in the Championship this season, producing 21 goals and seven assists. He’s constantly posed a threat in the final third with his pace, dribbling and finishing ability.

Of course, the Baggies would love to keep him beyond his loan spell but it remains to be seen as to whether they’ll be able to land their man this summer.

Salomon Rondon has surprised everyone in the Premier League this season as one of Newcastle United’s standout performers with 10 goals and six assists to his name.

But, he’s not quite the prolific striker that a team like West Bromwich Albion need.

Of course, his performances this season will probably mean that he stays in the Premier League, whether that’s at the Hawthorns or by leaving in the summer transfer window.

It’s safe to say that Dwight Gayle has outshone Salomon Rondon in the current campaign, with more assists and goals than the Venezuela international. The Magpies won’t mind seeing the 29-year-old leave in the summer if it means that Dwight Gayle comes the other way, as he’s shown already that he can be the perfect replacement.
