Bolton Wanderers fans must be extremely disappointed with how things have worked out in the current campaign, with League One calling their name. Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest have been rather underwhelming under the guidance of Martin O’Neill, so improvements are needed.
Interestingly, Nottingham Forest will welcome Bolton Wanderers to the City Ground later on today in the Championship. Both teams will be looking to finish their respective seasons on a high note, so supporters could be in for a rather interested game in the Midlands.
Two players who have been key for their respective sides this season are Sammy Ameobi and Joao Carvalho, so let’s compare the two players…
Many Bolton fans will agree that Sammy Ameobi hasn’t been at his best in the current campaign, with just four goals and four assists to his name at the Macron Stadium.
The winger will no doubt be a very dangerous player in League One but he’ll be disappointed that he wasn’t able to help his side when they needed him the most.
TT GRADE: B-
Joao Carvalho, who is valued at £9 million (by Transfermarkt), hasn’t always impressed on the field for Forest but when he has he’s been simply sensational.
The midfielder has four goals and seven assists to his name. His pace, trickery and dribbling ability gets him into promising positions and then he has the finishing and creative ability to make the most of chances.
He has all the ingredients to become a hero at the City Ground, but he just needs to ensure some consistency.
TT GRADE: B+
Ameobi arguably belongs in League One as it’s a level he can really thrive at, so he will be crucial for the Trotters next season as they look to secure promotion straight back to the Championship.
Indeed, it’s safe to say that the Bolton man can only dream of being as good as Carvalho as he’s never really got anywhere near to producing the same amount of magic as the Portuguese midfielder has. His vision and passing ability separates him from most players in the Championship and the crazy thing is he’s only 22-years-old.
