West Brom fans take to Twitter to lambaste their side after Sheffield United loss

West Brom fans were left in the lurch yesterday. Their side put in a horrible performance as they fell to a 1-0 defeat at home to Sheffield United in a game that could have huge implications on the final standings in the Championship. It could be a result that costs them a place in the top two, although playoffs look guarantee.

Darren Moore’s side have been superb at times this season. The Baggies went down last season and despite finishing 20th behind Stoke and Swansea they’ve looked the most likely to make the instant jump back up to the Premier League. However, their record at home against top six sides isn’t exactly stellar, with losses to Middlesbrough, Derby and now Sheffield United and a raw to Norwich.
Had the Baggies been able to overcome their top six rivals in their own backyard then they would be in a much better position and would be clear at the top of the Championship. However, as it stands they find themselves 4th and four points off of 3rd placed Leeds, who have a game in hand over the West Midlands side as they look to take their spot back at the top of the Premier League.
You can read the Baggies’ verdict on their loss here:
Simply not good enough at home! We have it spot on away. But we need a different way of playing in the home matches before it’s too late. Gayle and j rod can’t play together in a front 3 at home. It’s a Must win game at Leeds now.

A very poor run at home. We have to keep behind the baggies though! COME ON ALBION!

Poor again, nothing up front no creativity, too slow a build up & donkeys playing it out from the back

Worrying . Ok good side but that did not look convincing at all #wba

Dissapointed, we are not good enough for automatic promotion, playoffs ? Perhaps ?

Absolute horror show. Was awful all game. Granted we was playing a good side but it don't excuse how bad we were. Didn't see us string together more than 10 consecutive passes all match.

Quit sticking to this passing ideology when it isn’t working at home!!!

Another dreadful home display.

The Baggies know that they have to improve when playing at The Hawthorns if they want promotion and will be keen to make an instant improvement for their next clash with Leeds on Friday night.
