A lot of West Bromwich Albion fans are reminiscing over a former screamer scored by James Morrison, after the club posted footage of the goal scored ten years ago against Leicester City on Twitter.
The Baggies won the Championship game 3-0 and it saw them win their eighth home match in a row, via The Guardian, whilst also pushing them 12 points clear of Nottingham Forest in third place. The club managed to get promoted to England’s top flight in that campaign, finishing in second place and it was their fourth promotion in nine seasons, via Transfermarkt.
James Morrison featured for the side for 12 years, with the central midfielder making 341 appearances and scoring 38 goals before he retired in 2019, per Transfermarkt.
West Brom are in a very similar position to the one they were in a decade ago as they sit second in the Championship, with promotion to the Premier League in their hands as they are six points clear of Fulham in third place, via BBC Sport.
Their opponents ten years ago have had a great decade, with the Foxes managing the win the Premier League with Claudio Ranieri in the 2015/16 season, per Newsround, and one fan pointed out how ‘fortunes have changed for both sides in ten years.’
