West Brom are top of the Sky Bet Championship right now as the Baggies edged Preston North End yesterday evening at Deepdale with a 1-0 victory.
Leeds United had gone top of the league after cruising past Middlesbrough at the weekend but the Baggies knew that a win would see them go back on top.
Eventually, they achieved just that as well as they beat the home side via a late Charlie Austin penalty to go back to the summit.
Several Baggies players impressed on the night, too, despite it not being their best performance and one youngster that continues to earn the plaudits did so again yesterday evening and that was Nathan Ferguson.
The young defender looks a player that could go right to the top and Baggies fans will be hoping that they can keep him for as long as possible.
Let’s see the best of what has been said on Twitter about his showing:
Nathan Ferguson by the way, unbelievable. Add a few thousand to that contract offer because he deserves whatever our best are on, he was immense tonight and he can be a top, top player. Superstar #WBA

He's the best young full back I've seen at Baggies since Derek Statham & he was very special indeed!

agreed. mature, steely and composed beyond his years.

Lessons from tonight:
– Bilic’s ability to read and manage games is unreal. Subs win the points again
– Ferguson is going to the top – supreme talent that we must try and tie down
– 3 points at Deepdale is a huge statement
– EFL refs are terrible #wba

Ferguson is a class act no doubt about it,he has been tapped up I think and will be surprised if he doesn’t leave

Not a vintage performance tonight and it we didn’t really create enough clear cut chances to say we definitely deserved the win but it’s all about grinding it out. Ferguson was MOTM today. World class save by Johnstone too at 0-0, not to be forgotten💪 #wba #coyb

Not the best of performances but Three points and back top of the league, thanks to @chazaustin10. About time we've had an awful refereeing decision favour us. Yet another MOTM performance from Nathan Ferguson; becoming the norm. #WBA
