Another campaign in the Championship it is then. After losing in the most unfortunate of circumstances, West Brom must regather themselves to battle through England’s second division once again next season.
With the summer sure to be a busy one because of a new manager being eyed as well as a host of new players, the Baggies must stay positive to ensure they achieve their goal next term.
Promotion back into the Premier League was something they hoped to accomplish within one season but now they have to be sensible in who they acquire, in order to improve their chances the second time around.
Despite not going up, West Brom have been a great form of entertainment. As the top goalscorers in the league, finding the back of the net has come about with relative ease, though that could change with a few big loses.
In order to bolster their front-line, the loan signing of Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn could be a very sensible idea, seeing as he is eager to impress.
Woodburn, (who is valued at £4.5 million on Transfermarkt) remains a highly-rated player, despite failing to make an impact on loan at Sheffield United this season.
After making just seven Championship appearances, Woodburn returned to Liverpool unplanned in January and has rejoined the youth side since, though was touted with a move to the Hawthorns back in April by the Sun.
His two goals and three assists in Premier League 2 do show that he has ability but he really needs another loan spell to kickstart his senior career. Indeed, with everyone unsure about the future’s of Dwight Gayle and Salomon Rondon right now, the Welshman could be an instant replacement. Exciting, right?
West Brom had plenty of joy when they took Harvey Barnes on loan and because he and Woodburn are similar types of players, the Baggies might rightly hope for the same kind of impact.
