West Bromwich Albion travelled over the Severn Bridge on Saturday afternoon to take on play-off hopefuls Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium in the Sky Bet Championship.
The Baggies went into the game with results going their way in terms of the race for promotion into the Premier League. Last night, they would have been watching on as Nottingham Forest were humbled at home by Millwall as Matt Smith took a hat-trick in the first half.
And then, on Saturday lunchtime, Fulham – also on their travels – could only draw at Bristol City 1-1 to leave the door wide open for the Baggies to stretch out their gap in the top two. Indeed, they would have seen Leeds doing exactly that as they beat Huddersfield in their game at Elland Road but the Baggies could not follow suit, drawing to Swansea in a goalless game.
Let’s take a look at the reaction, then, as the Baggies took a point:
Feels like we always drop points when others drop points.

Awful performance, no intensity whatsoever

Poor game. Never looked like scoring. A point away at Swansea isn’t that bad though. It’s the results against the teams like Barnsley and Wigan that has held us back. We could be well clear by now. Still in a great position though. Onto the next.
