West Bromwich Albion: Fans rejoice as Championship tests reveal clean bill of health for the Baggies - West Brom

Plenty of West Brom fans welcomed a report from the Express & Star which confirmed that no cases of coronavirus have been detected at the club.

The newspaper reported that, following more than 1,000 tests on players and staff from all 24 Championship clubs, only two positive tests were returned, both from Hull City. The report from Liam Keen was shared on Twitter by his Express & Star colleague Joseph Masi (@JosephMasi_Star).

As per the Express & Star, Albion’s squad are set to resume training from today under the first phase of the EFL’s season restart plan, with COVID-19 testing to continue twice per week to ascertain that players and staff are sufficiently healthy to prepare for a return to football.

While anyone of a West Brom persuasion will likely be keen for the season to resume soon given that the Baggies are on course for automatic promotion to the Premier League, Hull City have publicly voiced their opposition to restarting the season more than once over the last week, with the Tigers just two points above the relegation zone.

These West Brom fans on Twitter were delighted to hear that everyone from the club tested negative for COVID-19, with one supporter cheekily pointing out that it has been “the only sign of negativity at the club this season”:

West Brom fans, are you confident that the season will resume and be played out to its conclusion? Share your views in the comments section below!
