West Brom: Fans question why Callum Robinson’s chance was not given as a goal

Plenty of West Bromwich Albion fans made their feelings clear about the officials during their 2-2 draw against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Callum Robinson thought he had scored a 96th-minute winner as his strike went over the line, only to give an offside decision against Kyle Bartley. Two own goals from either side came about at a windswept Hawthorns as the two sides were forced to split the points thanks to a 91st-minute thunderous equaliser from Forest’s Matty Cash.

Robinson got his goal for the Baggies and was gifted by Tobias Figueiredo as he put the ball into the back of his own net, as did Bartley. Ultimately, the hosts were fuming as West Brom’s No. 47’s effort in the dying embers of the game crossed the line but struck his teammate on the line. Questions remain as to whether he was interfering with play as he was still inside the Forest goal. One fan described the decision as “scandalous”, while another said that the linesman “had a stinker” after not spotting the ball go over the line.
