West Bromwich Albion: Fans react as club set to refund fans for match tickets

A number of West Brom fans have been reacting to an announcement from the club indicating their intention to refund supporters who had bought tickets for their remaining matches this season.
As posted on wba.co.uk and shared on Twitter via @WBA, Albion confirmed that the club will soon process refunds to fans who had purchased tickets for home or away fixtures, or travel for away games, for the rest of 2019/20 after the UK government confirmed that any further matches played this season will be behind closed doors.

No football has taken place in England for the past two months because of the coronavirus pandemic and negotiations are continuing as to how (or if) the country’s top divisions can resume safely. According to Sky Sports, the Championship remains intent on completing the season, with a report in The Athletic claiming that the EFL hopes to restart the league on 12 June if safe to do so.
Plenty of West Brom fans were pleased with the refund announcement from the club – several fans offered to donate the value of the refunds to good causes while one supporter asked the Baggies to put his refund amount towards securing permanent deals for on-loan duo Matheus Pereira and Filip Krovinovic.
Do you think Pereira and Krovinovic will be at West Brom next season?
Yes

No

Check out some of the replies from the Albion faithful below:
If I let you keep the refund, will you buy Pereira and Krovinović?

Reckon you should offer the option of full refund or for a small % of the refund to be donated directly to charity.
Many would take up the latter option.
Nonetheless more great work from our great club

I wasn’t expecting a refund, it’s not the clubs fault! I would be happy to put it towards staff salaries x

WBA we always have a moan about how you sometimes treat us, how you fail to understand our passion and beliefs but straight away with this virus you, @WbaFormer and @WBAFoundation have been magnificent and a credit, totally proud to be part of this club.

That’s how a class club behaves. Airlines take note.

Be happy to see my refund for 2 tickets to Sheffield Wednesday. As for my season ticket, I would happily let the club keep any refund I would be due. I’m proud of our club and how it has responded to the crisis. Real class

Fair play, though I’d have been happy for the club to keep it as credit toward a future ticket. Top work all round though
