West Brom: Fans react to academy victory - West Brom

West Brom could be on their way back to the Premier League, sitting pretty at the top of the Championship early in 2020. Indeed, they hold a seven-point lead to the chasing pack in the play-off places, despite a run of five league games without a win.

However, it’s not just the first-team that are pleasing Baggies fans of late. Impressively, the Albion’s under-23 side have been impressing so far this season, sitting third in the Premier League 2, so things are looking promising for the future. After all, this is an academy to have produced the likes of Louie Barry, Kemar Roofe and a certain Romaine Sawyers over the years.

So, if Slaven Bilic needed it, there’s plenty of talent to call upon in his academy sides. Midfielder Rayhaan Tulloch has scored nine goals in 13 games (via FlashScore), while forward Jamie Soule has seven in 12, so it’s clear to see the young Baggies are putting up some impressive numbers so far this season.

As a result, fans have been looking forward to the prospect of some these young hopefuls breaking into the first-team. With the likes of Sawyers and Rekeem Harper already showing them the way, it’s not inconceivable to think that some of them will get their opportunity before the end of the season.

With that in mind, here’s how some fans reacted to the academy’s latest win, a thumping 4-0 victory over Sunderland, hailing their ‘special’ academy talents:
