West Brom: Fans react to Kevin Phillips’ Aston Villa comments

West Brom: Fans react to Kevin Phillips’ Aston Villa comments - West Brom

Former West Bromwich Albion striker Kevin Phillips’ comments regarding a potential summer move for Aston Villa duo Tyrone Mings and John McGinn have prompted a response from the club’s fans.

With football at a standstill and the uncertainty surrounding both the Premier League and Championship’s return, Slaven Bilic’s West Brom are nervously awaiting a decision, sitting second at present in England’s second flight.

Midlands rivals Villa sit 19th in the Premier League and they could suffer relegation depending on how well Dean Smith’s side do when and if football returns.

The potential of West Brom gaining promotion and Villa dropping out of the league has had many connected to the club talking, and Phillips has now weighed on a potential transfer move for the Baggies.

The former striker believes that Bilic would be keen to look at a potential move for Mings and McGinn, who have both stood out in a disappointing season for the Claret and Blue.

Mings, who joined Villa on a permanent deal last summer has impressed throughout the season, gaining himself recognition in Gareth Southgate’s England side, whilst McGinn was in superb form prior to a nasty injury which saw him sidelined for a while.

Speaking to West Brom News, Phillips said that he believed Bilic would fight amongst other clubs for both Mings and McGinn if Villa suffered relegation.

Reacting to Phillips’ comments, Baggies fans gave a mixed response…

WBA fans, what are your thoughts?
