West Brom should seriously consider giving Oliver Burke a lifeline

The play-offs are going to be extremely challenging, right? Having blown the chance of achieving an automatic spot, West Brom are set to slog their way through the play-offs in a bid to gain a Premier League return.

That is not quite how many envisaged their season going but now, it is their reality.

The bounce-back from Darren Moore’s dismissal is something the West Brom players can definitely be proud of but now they need to ensure that they continue that run of form and end the season well.

The aim then, whatever predicament West Brom may find themselves in, is to refresh their squad with a number of players sure to leave, whilst others are sure to arrive as well. Any kind of budget is yet unknown to all but should the Baggies wish to not spend that much money, giving another chance to Oliver Burke is far from the worst decision they could make this summer.

Burke, (who is valued at £9 million on Transfermarkt) is someone who really failed to make a difference at the Hawthorns during his time there but having struggled initially, that doesn’t mean he isn’t deserving of another chance.

The 21-year-old has since been playing his football with Celtic and with four goals and an assist, Burke has once again shown that he does have the potential to enjoy a good career in the game.

He managed just 46 minutes of Championship football before leaving for Scotland and although some may argue his chance has now gone, West Brom must remember his age and then consider his good form right now before completely casting him aside.

Indeed, the club need to make more of the investment put in him, so whoever takes the reigns on a full-time basis must try and unlock the door. If they do, West Brom have quite the player on their hands.
