West Bromwich Albion: Fans celebrate Charlie Austin’s first goal for the club

West Bromwich Albion fans were celebrating Charlie Austin’s first goal for the club after the striker scored in the 4-2 win over Cardiff City.
Can West Brom win the Championship?
Yes

No

Before Saturday’s win over the Welsh side, Austin had failed to score in the Championship, only scoring one goal in the 2-1 loss at home to Millwall in the Carabao Cup (via Transfermarkt).
Austin joined the club from Southampton for a mere £4m on a two-year deal (via BBC).
The £7.2m-rated Englishman revealed his relief at getting his first league goal for the club and lauded the West Brom fans, who he said played a big part in his maiden strike (via Birmingham Mail).
Despite Austin’s lack of league goals, the Baggies sit top of the second-tier ahead of Nottingham Forest on goal difference.
Fans showed their support for Austin after his goal against Cardiff on the weekend as they took to Twitter to react.
Here is a selection of tweets from the Hawthorns faithful:
Loved his acknowledgement to the fans after celebrating with the players when he just stood there and raised his hands

Massively important player, confidence for any striker is huge..
First goal, first step, but Austin’s willingness to lead the line, work hard, has been fully embraced by the squad, strength to strength from now on…— Andy Caulton (@AndyfromNewHamp) October 7, 2019

Great finish from one of the best goalscorers I have ever seen. Though he won’t have done much for his knees with that celebration.
