West Bromwich Albion: Fans welcome veteran goalkeeper following year-long deal

West Bromwich Albion fans have welcomed signing Ali Al-Habsi, who has joined the club on a deal until the end of the season.

The veteran goalkeeper joins following a stint in Saudi Arabia playing for Al-Hilal, where he won the league title in the 2017/2018 season.

Al-Habsi has played in England before, turning out for Reading, Wigan Athletic and Bolton Wanderers during a 12-year spell.

The goalkeeper made more than 200 appearances for the three clubs, winning the FA Cup in 2013 with Wigan and reaching the Championship play-off final in 2017 with Reading.

The Oman international tweeted out his excitement at returning to England, a country he always wanted to ‘come back and play in’ (via Twitter).

Fans were quick to welcome him following his move to the club and took to Twitter to tweet their reactions.
