It has been a season where Josh Morris has had his injury problems at Glanford Park.
But in the appearances he has managed to make in League One for Scunthorpe United this term, the 27-year-old obviously did enough to catch the attention of some clubs in the Championship.
And given the financial trouble the latter have found themselves in over the last few years, at the cost of nothing, he could be a really smart signing.
A set-piece specialist capable of conjuring up moments of magic, Morris is exactly the kind of addition who could bring some life back to Loftus Road and get the Mark Warburton revolution going.
At the peak of his career, now is a great time for him to make a return to the Championship, with QPR being more than a suitable destination.
Outlining his summer plans in his first QPR press conference last week, Warburton told reporters: “We’ll be looking at players young and old, in terms of experience.
“You have to have maturity, experience and seniority to succeed in this really tough division but at the same time, we want youthful energy, hunger, and desire and passion as well.”
Morris ticks most of those boxes.
Competition looks set to be fierce for his signature, but QPR must do all they can to ensure he ends up at Loftus Road.
