West Bromwich Albion have defied expectations under the guidance of James Shan as he continues to surprise everyone at the Hawthorns. Indeed, automatic promotion is still a possibility at this stage so that’ll be their main focus from here on in until the end of the season.
The Midlands club are set to face a number of tough sides with the likes of Millwall, Bristol City, Preston North End and Hull City set to come in their next four Championship fixtures.
Of course, James Shan will need all of his players to be at their best if his side are to go up automatically as the likes of Leeds United and Sheffield United won’t be easy to catch.
Sadly, one player who hasn’t helped the Baggies’ cause in the current campaign is Stefan Johansen.
The Norway international joined on loan from Premier League side Fulham back in the summer transfer window but he just hasn’t been able to live up to expectations and could go down as a flop if he doesn’t improve. Indeed, West Brom fans will agree that he’s done more harm than good since rocking up at the Hawthorns.
With his loan deal set to expire in the summer, it’s surely unlikely that the Baggies will look to sign him on a permanent deal, as there are far better options out there. And, with Rekeem Harper enjoying his breakthrough season at the Hawthorns, it’s safe to say that Shan already has a replacement for the Fulham man.
West Brom fans will be glad to see him go in the summer and will hope that the club learn from their mistake.
