Nottingham Forest fans will agree that they’ve certainly improved under the guidance of Martin O’Neill at the City Ground, with a play-off place well within their sights at this moment in time.
Indeed, the Northern Irishman has already managed to work wonders on the transfer front for Forest since taking over at the City Ground, as January signing Yohan Benalouane has been instrumental in recent times.
The 31-year-old joined from Premier League side Leicester City back in the January transfer window and it’s safe to say that he’s already become a fan favourite, as he’s helped cure their defensive woes. And, he’s already managed to open his account as he netted the only goal against Derby County in the East Midlands derby.
Of course, with the likes of Michael Dawson, Tobias Figueiredo and Michael Hefele all currently spending time out on the sidelines, his performances in the side have been vital. Indeed, his experience and leadership levels have brought Forest’s defence on leaps and bounds as supporters continue to warm to him.
Martin O’Neill may just have unearthed a potential City Ground hero as he’s already shown that he can thrive in the Championship and the fans love having him in their side, with his defensive qualities aiding Forest’s play-off push massively up until this point.
Nottingham Forest fans, do you think Benalouane can become a hero at the City Ground? Surely you must be impressed with what you’ve seen of him…
