Wolves have always been a club with many attractions, the west midlands club currently sit in the automatic promotion places in the Championship table with 23 points. From an average turn out last season to a new and reformed legacy of late, this team are on the hunt for their much overdue return to the big time.
With new man Nuno at the helm, this Wolves team have had no hesitation in securing the signatures of many exciting and hot prospects that caused many rivals to look on in fear, after an incredible start with all the players starting to gel together the addition of another would surely condemn any concern.
The one position the Old Gold have always been short on is the striker position, however. With Brazilian forward Leonardo Bonatini leading the line by himself this season, there really is a sense of urgency from the fans to acquire him some support.
That’s where this man steps in, Benik Afobe linked on a return to the club, as The Sun suggests ‘Cherries to offload Afobe in the January transfer window as Wolves keen’ . After once being a huge fan favorite for Wolves as he set the League a light under the deadly trio well known to the Molineux faithful as Dicko, Afobe and Sako. With the memories still fresh in the mind Wolves fans have shared mixed emotions as the news filters in.
Its got us thinking, will Wolves fans be singing his praise once again?
The 24-year-old was prolific under the Wolves reign as he netted 22 times in 44 games in what was really the backbone of him climbing the ladder in respective of his career. After making the switch down south he’s struggled to find his feet as the 10 goals in 44 games are the only services he is able to provide to the Cherries front line.
So with the Cherries man under scrutiny, but former side approaching him with open arms here’s the reaction the latter have given off on social media…
Seeing us linked with Afobe again. We need to be aiming for better. He's proved he can't do it in the PL and that's where we're going.#wwfc

#wwfc linked with Afobe again. Yes please! Very similar to Bonatini – goals, assists & great link up play. Perfect CF for Nuno's system.

He wanted out, I don’t want him and we don’t need him.

Take him back in a heartbeat. He’d be unreal in the current set up and the option of using him, Leo or Cav gives great depth
