With the domestic deadline closing today, the Baggies moved quickly to seal a deal for Grant, which saw the striker [sign a six-year deal at The Hawthorns.](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11698/12105141/karlan-grant-west-brom-complete-signing-of-striker-from-huddersfield-on-six-year-deal)

The transfer cost West Brom a fee of £15m, making him the Premier League club’s [ninth signing this summer.](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/west-bromwich-albion/transfers/verein/984) Prior to his spell with the Terriers, Grant spent time with Charlton, appearing [98 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karlan-grant/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314183) for the Addicks in which he found the back of the net [21 times](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/karlan-grant/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/314183) in total.

Following the striker’s move to West Brom, details emerged regarding a 20% profit payment that would go to Charlton, as per a tweet from Sky Sports’ Ben Ransom.

> Charlton will get 20% PROFIT on any fee received above the £2m Huddersfield paid for Karlan Grant in January 2019.

> Come on rodders “we can double our money on this”. Great news though. That little fee has literally paid off all 6 perm signings on two year deals if they were collecting the average 2k per week. In these wierd times, regardless of it being paid up pronto, this is superb!
