# Chelsea: Blues fans react to Liam Twomey’s comments on former boss Carlo Ancelotti

**Chelsea greet an Everton side managed by Carlo Ancelotti in the Premier League this weekend and some fans have praised the former Blues boss online following the Athletic reporter Liam Twomey’s latest revelations.**

Current Chelsea head coach and record goal-scorer Frank Lampard made 83 appearances under Ancelotti, scoring 40 goals and registering 25 assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/frank-lampard/leistungsdatentrainer/spieler/3163)).

[Writing in the Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1653892/2020/03/05/carlo-ancelotti-chelsea-roman-abramovich/?source=shared-article), Blues correspondent Twomey noted “managers who have left Chelsea in the Abramovich era are rarely afforded a warm reception but the Italian is guaranteed one.”

Ancelotti completed a domestic double during his tenure at the London club, winning the Premier League and FA Cup in the same season ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.com/carlo-ancelotti/erfolge/trainer/523)).

[Twomey](https://twitter.com/liam_twomey) further revealed more about the Italian’s time at Stamford Bridge on his Twitter account:

> Ancelotti was comforted by Ferguson after one Abramovich dressing down in 2011 – but he and the Chelsea hierarchy are on great terms now. Time has enhanced his achievements at Stamford Bridge.

Predictably some Blues fans have been reacting to Twomey’s latest comments, with one fan describing the 60-year-old as a “gentleman.” Professional snooker player and Chelsea fan Neil Robertson even weighed in on the matter!

Take a look at some of the best responses we could find…

> Good piece as usual Liam. This May it will be 10 years since that title win under Carlo. What a team that was, the amount goals, beating Arsenal, Liverpool & Manchester United home and away. Will be applauding Carlo for sure on Sunday.

> Absolutely flying in the league until Drogba got ill and then for some reason the club relieved Wilkins of his duties as assistant. Then dumped a £50m injury ridden Torres to try and play with Drogba🤷‍♂️

> The seat next to me is usually free, it would be an honour to have Carlo sit there – we could discuss his excellent book.
