# Chelsea: Fans delighted with Christian Pulisic substitution

**Chelsea sit [top](https://www.skysports.com/champions-league-table)of their Champions League group after beating Ajax 1-0 last night.**

The Blues left it late to clinch the spoils at the Johan Cruyff Arena, with substitute Michy Batshuayi finding the net in the 86th minute with a finish from close range.

Christian Pulisic, who signed for Chelsea in January but officially made the switch to Stamford Bridge in the summer, has seen regular game-time limited so far.

The American has only started [four games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-pulisic/leistungsdaten/spieler/315779) in all competitions for the Blues – none of which have come in the Champions League.

However, he has contributed [five assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-pulisic/leistungsdaten/spieler/315779) so far this season, including when picking out Batshuayi for Wednesday night’s dramatic late winner – as it seems these supporters were right to be excited by his introduction.

Last night, it had been a similar story for Pulisic, who started the clash against Ajax watching on from the sidelines, as Willian lined up alongside Tammy Abraham and Callum Hudson-Odoi in the Blues’ front-three.

The 21-year-old was called into action just after the hour mark, however, replacing Willian to make his [fourth substitute appearance](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/christian-pulisic/leistungsdaten/spieler/315779) of the season, much to the delight of these Chelsea fans, who clearly want to start seeing more of the former Dortmund man…
