# Chelsea: Fans reject links with Metz striker Habib Diallo

**Chelsea fans are vehemently against reports linking them with Ligue 1 striker Habib Diallo.**

According to [TEAMtalk](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/exclusive-chelsea-tottenham-join-hunt-for-prolific-metz-striker), the west London club want to rival Premier League sides Tottenham Hotspur and Leicester City for the forward, who has scored [eight](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/296372/Show/Habib-Diallo) goals in 13 French top-flight appearances.

It would seem the Blues aren’t in desperate need of a forward after the starts Tammy Abraham and Michy Batshuayi have enjoyed. The England international is second in the Premier League goalscoring charts with [10 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/tammy-abraham/leistungsdaten/spieler/331726), while Batshuayi has [scored seven goals in just 343 minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/michy-batshuayi/leistungsdaten/spieler/179184) across the first-team and under-23s.

However, any move for Diallo may have to be in next summer’s transfer window, with Chelsea in the midst of a two-window transfer ban which ends after January.

Fans were refusing to accept the transfer story as they took to Twitter to react, with one pointing out the disastrous signing that was Tiémoué Bakayoko, who of course also came from Ligue 1.

Here is a selection of tweets from the west London faithful:
