# Chelsea: Fans slam Alvaro Morata after his comments on time with the Blues

**Chelsea fans have been slamming Alvaro Morata after the Atletico Madrid striker commented on his time with the Blues.**

The 27 year-old said that his time at the club left him ‘the opposite of happy’ and that he suffered as a result of being left out of Spain’s squad for the 2018 World Cup [(Jugones via AS)](https://en.as.com/en/2019/11/12/football/1573579611_333748.html)

After a promising start to life in west London, which saw him contribute 13 goals in his first 15 Premier League games, the Spain international tailed off and endured a nightmare time with the side [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alvaro-morata/leistungsdaten/spieler/128223/plus/0?saison=2017).

He went on to score just [seven goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alvaro-morata/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/128223/verein/631) in the top-flight before departing for Atletico Madrid in January 2018.

His move to Chelsea only came about after a proposed transfer to Manchester United fell through, with the player even dying his hair red to celebrate, according to Marca [(via Joe)](https://www.joe.co.uk/sport/tragic-images-show-how-certain-alvaro-morata-was-that-hed-be-a-manchester-united-player-133810).

It seems there is no love lost between the Chelsea fans and Morata as they took to Twitter to slam the striker for his comments.
