# Chelsea fans want the club to stay well away from Petr Cech

**Petr Cech is a legend at Stamford Bridge, and he’s hugely popular amongst fans of the club, but many supporters aren’t very happy about the prospect of a return for the club icon.**

[According to Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol, Chelsea are considering a move for the 36-year-old goalkeeper in light of the news that Thibaut Courtois could move to Real Madrid.](https://twitter.com/SkyKaveh/status/1019294961441935360)

Thus, Cech appears to be a clear option for the club, much to the bemusement of fans.

> Chelsea considering re-signing Petr Cech if/when they sell Thibaut Courtois to Real Madrid. Chelsea also interested in Leicester City goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Liverpool have made big move for other Chelsea target Alisson.

Cech, of course, was Chelsea’s number one for over a decade, and he delivered consistent performances of the highest quality. Furthermore, he offered tremendous leadership and personality behind the scenes, and his departure was a significant loss for the club.

However, despite all that, a move for him isn’t going down too well with fans. Indeed, many have taken to Twitter over the last day or so to reveal their frustration at the news. They’re touting a move for Cech as one of the worst that the club could make.

Take a look at what they’ve had to say below…

> Chelsea:\
> Then:\
> Sign Lukaku to replace Drogba, few years later re-sign Drogba to replace Lukaku
>
> Now:\
> Sign Courtois to replace Cech, few years later rumours on re-sign Cech to replace Courtois.

> Imagine resigning Cech, this would be an embarrassment we would never come back from.

> And that’s not hating on Cech, who I’d like back at the club as a member of the staff.

> As a Chelsea Fan one of the mistake we ever made was ever Selling Petr Cech ,but buying him back I don’t really think it makes any more sense

> Usually agree with everything you guys post, but not with this. Big Pete is not what he was and we need to get back into things. A solid keeper is where it all starts.
