This recent snap of Billy Gilmour during training has got Chelsea fans tipping him for a glittering career with the Blues.
The club’s official Instagram account has posted a photo of the youngster leaping to head a ball during one of the team’s latest sessions at Cobham.
The 19-year-old has been subject of a lot of talk recently after breaking into the first team before the Premier League was brought to a halt. As a shining prospect, fans are going as far as predicting Gilmour to become the future Chelsea captain.
Will Billy Gilmour become a Chelsea star?
Frank Lampard has put a lot of faith into his side’s younger players this campaign, and it has paid dividends. Mason Mount and Tammy Abraham have impressed with their senior performances, tallying a total of 19 goals and nine assists between them in the league this term (via Transfermarkt).
Gilmour could be the next in line to become a sure starter for the Blues. He has made three Premier League appearances so far and has a total of seven goal contributions across Chelsea’s youth divisions (also Transfermarkt).
Lampard and his men will return to action on Sunday against Aston Villa as England’s top flight finally resumes. The 19-year-old could be looking at some more game time as the league continues to unfold.
