Chelsea fans are predicting how their second fixture against Bayern Munich will play out following recent club Instagram posts.
The Blues have uploaded a snap of Olivier Giroud in action at Cobham and many supporters think he will be the man of the hour on Saturday.
Can Chelsea beat Bayern Munich on Saturday?
It will a tough ask for Frank Lampard’s men to overturn a 3-0 deficit racked up by Bayern at Stamford Bridge. If Chelsea can win the tie and knock the Germans out of the competition, they will progress into the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Giroud will more than likely be Lampard’s first choice up front to start the away fixture. The Frenchman has been in fine form since English football restarted, notching eight goal contributions in 11 appearances (via Sofascore). He replaced Tammy Abraham as the target-man up front and has since been untouchable following on from his impressive form.
However, he will be challenged for his spot in the starting lineup next season with new arrival Timo Werner likely to be the striker in the limelight. The former RB Leipzig man joined the club in June for a fee of £45million and has been training with the first team ahead of his debut campaign.
Chelsea will try and overthrow Bayern Munich’s lead at the Allianz Arena on Saturday at 8pm.
