Chelsea winger Hakim Ziyech looks increasingly likely to leave the club in the January transfer window, following a new update regarding his future.

The Lowdown: Ziyech down the pecking order

The Moroccan has struggled to be a key part of Graham Potter's plans this season, and Thomas Tuchel's before him for that matter, only starting four Premier League matches in total between the two managers.

Ziyech has also contributed just one assist and no goals in the league, in a total of ten appearances, with his performances flattering to deceive too often despite his impressive technical ability.

The 29-year-old's current Chelsea deal doesn't run out until 2025, but he could be on the move this month.

The Latest: Exit update emerges

Taking to Twitter, journalist Fabrizio Romano says that the Blues would entertain offers for Ziyech, with plenty of clubs showing an interest:

"Chelsea will discuss the bids for Hakim Ziyech, as expected - many clubs are keen on signing him in the final days of the transfer window.

"Premier League and foreign clubs are exploring conditions of the deal."

The Verdict: Right time to sell

This feels like the right time for Chelsea to sell Ziyech, with the Morocco international still at an age where they can receive a good amount of money for his services, rather than losing him on the cheap further down the line.

The £100,000-a-week winger feels expendable after the January arrivals of Joao Felix and Mykhaylo Mudryk, especially with Raheem Sterling also set to return from injury soon.

Ziyech's Chelsea career has ultimately been a forgettable one, with the attacker possessing a sensational left foot - he was recently called 'incredible' by Morocco manager Walid Regragui - but only scoring 14 times in 98 appearances for Chelsea.

He increasingly feels like yesterday's man, despite starting Liverpool on Saturday, and moving him on could free up funds for Potter to bring in a younger right-sided replacement.
