Chelsea: Blues ‘remain hopeful’ of signing Endrick

Chelsea: Blues ‘remain hopeful’ of signing Endrick -Chelsea News

Chelsea are still ‘hopeful’ of completing the signing of exciting Palmeiras teenager Endrick, according to an update from journalist Graeme Bailey.

The Lowdown: Endrick linked with Chelsea move

Graham Potter is still looking to fully make an imprint on his Blues squad since arriving as manager two months ago, with new signings sure to help him in that respect.

One player who has been linked with a move to Chelsea is Endrick, who has emerged as arguably one of the most gifted young players in Brazil currently.

The 16-year-old sensation has scored five goals in just four caps for Brazil’s under-17s, along with netting three goals in seven appearances for Palmeiras’ senior team despite his tender years.

The Latest: Decision to be made soon

Taking to Twitter in sharing a report for 90min, Bailey confirmed that Chelsea are still keen on acquiring Endrick’s signature, even though there is clear competition for him.

The reporter added that the player is due to make a decision on his immediate future before the end of this year, and while the Blues remain ‘hopeful’ of landing the 16-year-old, Real Madrid are fully confident they will win the race to sign him.

Bailey tweeted:

“Palmeiras expect to agree Endrick sale before end of the year. Player due for one more visit to Real Madrid at the end of this month before making his decision. Real believe player is Spain bound, but Chelsea and PSG remain hopeful.”

First up in this Chelsea World Cup quiz, the Blues have how many players in the England squad for Qatar 2022?

The Verdict: Hugely exciting option

At 16, Endrick understandably wouldn’t join Chelsea as an immediate key player in their first team – he wouldn’t even move to London until he is 18, due to FIFA regulations – but his performances in Brazil highlight how vast his potential is.

The Blues’ attack could do with a rebuild and younger players being added to it, and the teenager is someone who is generally at his best down the middle, so he could learn from the hugely experienced Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, if indeed the Gabon veteran is at Stamford Bridge by then.

Endrick is still very much a work in progress, so he could even be loaned back to Palmeiras or another club after joining one of his European suitors, before hopefully maturing into a star turn at Stamford Bridge if Chelsea is his next club of choice.
