Former professional footballer Dean Windass is surprised that Kurt Zouma isn’t in Chelsea's starting eleven this season.

Thomas Tuchel's side have made the perfect start to the Premier League season, winning both their opening two matches and keeping two clean sheets in the process.

Zouma did start the UEFA Super Cup game against Villarreal, playing 66 minutes, but hasn’t featured in the Premier League so far this season for the Blues and has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer.

David Ornstein of the Athletic, posted on his personal Twitter account that West Ham and Chelsea had a €30m (£25.7m) verbal agreement for Zouma but are stuck on personal terms, but Windass is surprised that Zouma isn’t in Chelsea’s team this year, telling Transfer Tavern: “I’m very surprised that he’s obviously not in Chelsea's team after last year, you know, he did brilliantly last year.”

The 26-year-old featured for Chelsea win, two Premier League trophies, a UEFA Champions League, an English League Cup and the UEFA Super Cup just a few weeks ago.

With just a week to go until the transfer window shuts and with interest in his signature, will Zouma move across London to West Ham or will he remain at Stamford Bridge beyond the deadline?
