Chelsea are looking to cash in on N’Golo Kante this summer as they aim to raise funds to further splurge in the upcoming transfer window.
The Blues have already secured the signatures of Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner, with Kai Havertz seemingly the next in line to be snapped up. Roman Abramovich has reportedly personally contacted the German and is willing to meet a price tag of £90million (per Sports Buzzer, via Daily Express). It’s certainly a large sum to cough up, so selling a high quality player like Kante would help raise the cash.
Real Madrid are said to be interested in the 29-year-old, with Zinedine Zidane a long-time admirer of his. But in a recent column for the Daily Mail, Peter Crouch has tipped the Frenchman to be an ideal fit for Liverpool.
Should Chelsea keep or sell N'Golo Kante?
“They won’t stand still this summer and they will keep evolving,” Crouch commented on the Reds’ set-up. “The front three is good enough to be left alone but maybe they need something in midfield.
“If it was me, maybe N’Golo Kante would fit right in.”
Liverpool need to recruit in order to keep pushing for silverware, and maybe Kante is an option Klopp would consider in order to bolster his midfield.
Chelsea may not be be fussy with who they sell the Frenchman to, as he will likely command a fee of about £72million (via Transfermarkt), which would almost fund a Havertz deal.
Kante is a proven winner, having lifted the Premier League title with both Chelsea and Leicester as well as the World Cup with France (Transfermarkt). Adding him to the squad at Anfield would certainly strengthen Liverpool, of that there is no doubt.
