Declan Rice has been heavily linked to a Chelsea move this transfer window amid serious interest from the west Londoners.
It’s looking increasingly more likely that the two parties will strike a deal, despite West Ham demanding at least £80million before they consider letting him leave.
Is £80million a fair asking price for Declan Rice?
Indeed, Rice is one of the Irons’ most important players and after a tough 2019/2020, they will be relying on him to help them this time round.
However, Chelsea remain persistent in their chase for his signature. So much so that the fanbase has swarmed to his recent Instagram post to try and convince him to join the Blues.
Frank Lampard is an admirer of the England international and adding him to his ranks will further bolster his impressive squad. Chelsea have already made six major signings this window, splashing more than £200million on new personnel.
If Roman Abramovich signs off on spending a further £80million, Rice will become the club’s most expensive player. He will overtake the £71million the club splurged on Kepa Arrizabalaga two years ago.
Chelsea’s next fixture will see them play host to Liverpool and truly put their new squad to the test.
