Jamie Carragher has commented on Chelsea’s current transfer window situation and has highlighted what needs to be done ahead of next season.
The former Liverpool defender has slammed Frank Lampard’s defence for their poor display at Anfield on Wednesday night. The Blues went back to London on the wrong end of a 5-3 scoreline, after the champions proved too clinical in attack.
Speaking about Kepa Arrizabalaga and his back-line to the Daily Star, Carragher said: “This is a massive problem for Chelsea. They’ve got to sort this out.”

The West London outfit have conceded 54 goals this season, which is the worst record out of the top ten Premier League sides. Kepa has made just 55 saves and kept eight clean sheets, which simply isn’t good enough for a side pushing for silverware (via Premier League).
“Yes Werner is coming in. Ziyech from Ajax. There’s talk of Havertz as well, an attacking player,” the Anfield icon continued. “It gets supporters excited but it means nothing if you don’t sort out that back four, that back three and certainly that goalkeeper.”
Chelsea have been heavily linked to Kai Havertz for months now and a deal could be close to being finalised. According to Nico Schira (via Express), the 21-year-old and his agent have agreed a five-year contract worth £7.3million with Marina Granovskaia. According to SportBild (via Sport Witness), Lampard views Havertz as his ‘dream’ summer signing.
