Chelsea are reportedly looking to offload Jorginho in order to gather funds for a swoop for Declan Rice.

According to Football Insider, the Blues are keen to get the wheels in motion towards bringing the West Ham star to Stamford Bridge. However, given the current financial climate, it seems Frank Lampard and Co may need to cash in on some players so that they can continue their spending spree and Jorginho is the man they will look to offload.

Chelsea have already welcomed Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner to the club and are looking well-stacked up front. Now, they must shift attention to kitting out their back-line and it looks like they will start with Rice.

The versatile centre-back has recently been playing in midfield which means he can provide cover across two positions. Lampard has switched up his centre-half choices throughout this season, with Kurt Zouma playing the most minutes in the league (via WhoScored). It seems the 42-year-old can't settle on who performs best alongside the Frenchman, which could be why they are looking to bring Rice in.

Interest from former boss Maurizio Sarri has surfaced as Chelsea dangle Jorginho on the market. The Italian brought the defensive midfielder with him from Napoli and is looking to be reunited with him once more (according to Sport, vis TEAMtalk).

Jorginho's Transfermarkt value is currently at £46.8million, so selling him could bank Chelsea a healthy sum towards their summer budget. Rice is valued at £44.5m which isn't too high of a price if the Blues can secure some outgoings.
