# Chelsea: Kenedy could move to Fenerbahce

**Chelsea outcast Kenedy could be heading to Fenerbahce, as the Turkish outfit look to seal a new left-back before next Monday’s transfer deadline, according to Fotomac via [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/club-looking-move-chelsea-defender-losing-roma-player/).**

The Brazilian wing-back, who is adept to playing as a full-back or winger, seemingly isn’t in manager Frank Lampard’s first-team plans this season and knows he will see game-time limited if he remains put in west London.

Kenedy spent the second part of the 2017-18 campaign on loan at Newcastle United, before re-joining the Magpies at the start of last season for another season-long spell at St James’ Park.

In total, the Brazilian turned out [41 times for the North East outfit, scoring three goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/kenedy/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/281404). He was sporadically used last term by manager Rafa Benitez, despite impressing on loan there the season before.

The 23-year-old has just one year left remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, so may head to Turkey on loan this season and then look at a permanent move elsewhere next summer as a free agent.

However, Chelsea would reportedly prefer to offer [Kenedy a new contract and then loan him out](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/kenedy-keen-leave-chelsea-permanently-blues-have-a-different-plan), just like they did with right-back Davide Zappacosta, who last week joined former side Roma on loan until January [after agreeing a one-year contract extension with the Blues](https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2019/08/21/davide-zappacosta-extends-contract-and-moves-to-roma-on-loan).

Heading to the Super Lig this season could be a shrewd move by the young wing-back; at Fenerbahce, he would have a better chance of first-team minutes and be playing for one of the country’s biggest sides gunning for the league title. Indeed, the 1.2 dribbles per game ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/132838/History/Kenedy)) he completed at Newcastle last season would rank him [fourth](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/223/Show/Turkey-Fenerbahce) in the squad out in Turkey, while the 1 key pass per game he made in black and white the season prior to that would see him [joint first](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/223/Show/Turkey-Fenerbahce) in that metric.

So, while the numbers above are over the course of different seasons (Kenedy’s relatively low experience in major top-flight football may explain that), he has proven he can an add an attacking impetus.
