# Chelsea locked in monumental striker talks, big money star desperate for move

**Romelu Lukaku and Chelsea’s love affair ended somewhat sourly in 2014, though the Belgian forward has remained a barrel-chested box of broken dreams for the Blues in the Transfer Tavern.**

Watching him develop into one of the most lethal marksmen in the Premier League has been tough for those in West London, though even more gutting could be the expense required to bring him back.

Reportedly valued by current charges Everton at a whopping [£75m](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfer-news-club-will-pay-up-to-67m-to-partner-romelo-lukaku-with-diego-costa-but-everton-a3308701.html), the Stamford Bridge giants are understood to only be willing to go as high as [£67m](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfer-news-club-will-pay-up-to-67m-to-partner-romelo-lukaku-with-diego-costa-but-everton-a3308701.html).

However, according to the [London Evening Standard](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfer-news-romelu-lukaku-considers-handing-in-transfer-request-to-force-stamford-bridge-a3309686.html), the 23-year old is ready to do his bit in trying to force through a move by tabling a transfer request at Goodison Park.

Though John Stones did the same last summer and the Toffees still stood firm, the former Anderlecht prodigy has [openly admitted](https://www.espnfc.co.uk/blog/transfer-talk/79/post/2854521/lukaku-keen-on-chelsea-return-to-resolve-unfinished-business) he believes he has ‘unfinished business’ with Chelsea.

The channels of communication between the two clubs are [believed](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfer-news-club-will-pay-up-to-67m-to-partner-romelo-lukaku-with-diego-costa-but-everton-a3308701.html) to be open, though there is [thought](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfer-news-club-will-pay-up-to-67m-to-partner-romelo-lukaku-with-diego-costa-but-everton-a3308701.html) to be a difference in valuation.

**Surely Lukaku is not worth that kind of money?! Let us know below..**
