# Chelsea: Moises Caicedo has ‘travelled to London’

**[Chelsea](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/chelsea-fc-transfer-rumours/) target Moises Caicedo has reportedly travelled to London on deadline day, according to journalist [Jacque Talbot](https://www.givemesport.com/88110747-arsenal-transfer-news-moises-caicedo).**

### The Lowdown: Caicedo and Fernandez?

The Blues appear to be on the hunt for midfield reinforcements in the final hours of the January window, with a record move for Benfica’s [Enzo Fernandez](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/30/chelsea-enzo-fernandez-bid-105m-english-transfer-record-benfica) potentially on the cards.

[Reports](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/30/chelsea-enzo-fernandez-bid-105m-english-transfer-record-benfica) have suggested that Chelsea could also make a late push for Brighton’s Caicedo, with the 21-year-old also on [Arsenal’s](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/moises-caicedo-arsenal-transfer-jorginho-26115162) radar.

The Seagulls [don’t want to lose the Ecuador international](https://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/transfer-news/moises-caicedo-arsenal-transfer-jorginho-26115162) though, while the player himself could well be looking to force through a late move having already posted a goodbye message [on social media](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1727578/Arsenal-transfer-news-Moises-Caicedo-Instagram-Twitter-Brighton).

### The Latest: Talbot’s comments

Talking to [GiveMeSport](https://www.givemesport.com/88110747-arsenal-transfer-news-moises-caicedo), journalist Talbot provided an update on Caicedo, admitting he’s heard that the player is on the way to London but stressing that a deal with any interested club is yet to be agreed.

*“I’ve heard that he’s travelled to London on deadline day – he’s in London. Obviously it’s been briefed elsewhere, and especially to Brighton reporters, that there’s no deal in place. That’s not our information. We’re aware of that but it’s not what I’ve heard.”*

### The Verdict: One to watch…

It could be a frantic final few hours in the window for Stamford Bridge officials, with Fernandez and Caicedo potentially two deals to keep an eye on. Both could be huge deals financially, with a [£115m fee](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/jan/30/chelsea-enzo-fernandez-bid-105m-english-transfer-record-benfica) mooted for Fernandez and Arsenal having a [£70m](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12798879/arsenal-transfer-news-gunners-70m-bid-for-moises-caicedo-rejected-by-brighton#:~:text=Arsenal%20have%20had%20their%20fresh,shut%20on%20Tuesday%20at%2011pm.) offer for Caicedo turned down.

The Blues have shown under Todd Boehly that they are willing to [splash the cash](https://inews.co.uk/sport/football/chelsea-transfers-full-list-signings-season-todd-boehly-2086573), though, and following this update, a double midfield swoop could be one to watch.

[Jorginho](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64466420) is also on his way to the Emirates, which shows that there could be room for Caicedo and Fernandez, especially with [Conor Gallagher](https://twitter.com/liam_twomey/status/1620090889824763906)’s future also up in the air.
