# Chelsea must make record-breaking move to land Man United target

**The Chelsea fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperate to seen Antonio Conte get underway with the big deals this summer as he looks to prepare a side capable of returning strong in the Champions League.**

With that in mind, the Blues have been set their price to land a deal for exciting Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele, who both Conte and former Stamford Bridge boss Jose Mourinho have been [linked](https://metro.co.uk/2017/06/22/chelsea-join-manchester-united-and-barcelona-transfer-chase-for-want-away-ousmane-dembele-6728056/) with this summer.

According to [Telefoot](https://www.tf1.fr/tf1/telefoot/news/exclu-telefoot-25-06-bar-bayern-psg-interesses-ousmane-dembele-8387196.html), the German side have slapped a €90m (£79m) valuation on the 20-year-old, meaning the Premier League champions would have to smash their £50m club-record fee in order to engineer a deal.

The former Stade Rennais man burst onto the scene in the Bundesliga under Thomas Tuchel last season, scoring ten goals and assisting a further 21 in all competitions, including the opening goal in the German Cup final which Der BVB went on to win 2-1.

Our landlord reckons that, while Chelsea are looking to add depth ahead of the new season, such a fee for Dembele is out of the question after just one season at the top.
