A fresh update has emerged from Romano, one which suggests the Blues could be closer to getting their man.

### The Verdict: Ideal attacking signing?

Thuram could be exactly what Chelsea need, with the Frenchman renowned as a scorer and creator in the final third who is very clever in his movement, as per a scout report from [The Coaches’ Voice](https://www.coachesvoice.com/cv/marcus-thuram-lillian-thuram-borussia-monchengladbach/).

The 25-year-old has already [scored 10 goals](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/296322/Show/Marcus-Thuram) in 15 [Bundesliga](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/bundesliga-news/) appearances for Monchengladbach this season, [half](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/premier-league/tabelle/wettbewerb/GB1/saison_id/2022) of Chelsea’s [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/) tally. He has [41 goals in 119 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/318528/verein/18) overall for the German club and has also been described as ‘[world class](https://www.getfootballnewsgermany.com/2022/marcus-thuram-a-world-class-striker-after-recovering-from-serious-injury-last-year/)‘ by Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer.

Thuram could be an upgrade on an [out-of-sorts](https://www.goal.com/en/news/aubameyang-is-not-the-main-man-for-chelsea-anymore-pulis/bltdb2357e1065660a7) Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang and give Potter the reliable focal point that the Blues manager is craving at the apex of his attack.
