Their excitement has only been added to following reports in [the Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7067757/Antonio-Conte-faces-Chelsea-keeper-headache-as-Thibaut-Courtois-refuses-to-give-assurances-and-talks-with-Asmir-Begovic-are-also-in-limbo.html) that the club are lining up Stoke City stopper Jack Butland for a summer move in order to shake up their options between the sticks.

Though the Blues boast two top class ‘keepers already, both Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic have been [linked](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7067757/Antonio-Conte-faces-Chelsea-keeper-headache-as-Thibaut-Courtois-refuses-to-give-assurances-and-talks-with-Asmir-Begovic-are-also-in-limbo.html) with moves away from Stamford Bridge as Antonio Conte prepares for a major squad overhaul upon his arrival as the club’s new boss after Euro 2016.

The former has been [linked](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/courtois-opcion-real-madrid-gea-no-llega-20160408.html) with a return to Spain, where he enjoyed so much success while on a three-year loan stint with Atletico Madrid – winning the La Liga title and reaching the Champions League final.

City rivals Real Madrid are [said](https://www.fichajes.net/noticias/courtois-opcion-real-madrid-gea-no-llega-20160408.html) to be plotting a huge summer deal to prize the Belgian back to the Spanish capital as they look for a long-term replacement to Iker Casillas.

His understudy, Begovic, is [understood](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7067757/Antonio-Conte-faces-Chelsea-keeper-headache-as-Thibaut-Courtois-refuses-to-give-assurances-and-talks-with-Asmir-Begovic-are-also-in-limbo.html) to be disgruntled at his lack of first-team football since his own move from the Potters last season, despite Courtois’ dip in form for large parts of the season.

Ironically, the Bosnian was replaced as Number 1 at the Britannia Stadium by the 23-year old.

As a result, Conte is [believed](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/7067757/Antonio-Conte-faces-Chelsea-keeper-headache-as-Thibaut-Courtois-refuses-to-give-assurances-and-talks-with-Asmir-Begovic-are-also-in-limbo.html) to be weighing up a move for the England ace should he lose both his custodians over the course of the summer.

Previously, fellow Three Lions ‘keeper Fraser Forster had been [touted](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/transfernews/7045980/Fraser-Forster-on-Chelsea-transfer-radar-if-Thibaut-Courtois-leaves-Stamford-Bridge.html) as a potential candidate in a [£20m](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/transfernews/7045980/Fraser-Forster-on-Chelsea-transfer-radar-if-Thibaut-Courtois-leaves-Stamford-Bridge.html) deal from Southampton.

Butland, who was linked with a [move to Liverpool](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/6771583/Jurgen-Klopp-is-eyeing-a-20million-swoop-for-Stokes-Jack-Butland.html), recently penned a new long-term deal in Staffordshire following his emergence as the club’s first-choice ‘keeper.

**Can Butland become Petr Cech’s true long-term heir?**
