While Ben Godfrey will now be missing for a ‘few weeks’, Donny van de Beek and Andre Gomes are ‘also injured’.

### The Verdict: Big blow

It certainly is a big blow for the Merseyside club to lose three key players in the squad ahead of what is another huge match in the fight to stay in the top flight.

They have made a total of [41](https://www.whoscored.com/Teams/31/Show/England-Everton) appearances between them in the division, with van de Beek only joining on loan from Manchester United in the January transfer window.

Nonetheless, with Andros Townsend and Nathan Patterson also out [injured](https://www.evertonfc.com/teams/injuries-and-suspensions), it leaves the squad relatively light not just for this game, but for the remaining crucial fixtures.
