# Chelsea to launch £32m defender move, personal terms agreed

![Bonucci](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06/Bonucci-500x305.jpg)Chelsea fans in the Transfer Tavern are hoping the news they’ve just heard is the finale to a drawn-out transfer saga, which could represent their biggest signing of the summer.

[*Metro*](https://metro.co.uk/2016/06/20/leonardo-bonucci-accepts-130000-a-week-chelsea-deal-5956898/)[state](https://metro.co.uk/2016/06/20/leonardo-bonucci-accepts-130000-a-week-chelsea-deal-5956898/)Chelsea are ready to offer Italian giants Juventus £32m for the services of Leonardo Bonucci, with the player said to have already agreed personal terms ahead of a move to west London.

New Blues boss Antonio Conte has had Bonucci top of his wish-list ever since he was confirmed as the next manager at Stamford Bridge and he holds a strong relationship with his compatriot, having already worked with the 29-year-old at Juventus and with the Italian national team.

The reports of a bid come a day after [*The Sun*](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1314101/chelsea-boss-antonio-conte-plots-double-swoop-for-italy-stars-antonio-candreva-and-leonardo-bonucci/)[stated Bonucci has already agreed personal terms](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/1314101/chelsea-boss-antonio-conte-plots-double-swoop-for-italy-stars-antonio-candreva-and-leonardo-bonucci/) to the tune of £130k-a-week, with Conte wanting Bonucci as part of a three-man defence alongside Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma.

Our landlord believes this is a huge signing for the Blues but is not confident a three-man back-line will work in the Premier League, whilst he’s also wondering what it means for the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta.
