# Everton: Billy Gilmour ‘discussed’ in potential Anthony Gordon swap deal

**Billy Gilmour has reportedly been ‘discussed’ in a potential swap deal between [Everton](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/) and Chelsea involving Anthony Gordon.**

### The Lowdown: Chelsea pushing

According to [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-chelsea-ready-50m-anthony-gordon-bid-amid-new-everton-twist/), Chelsea are ready to increase their offer for Gordon to £50m, after the Merseyside club previously rejected a bid of £40m for the Englishman.

Frank Lampard’s team are also thought to be interested in the likes of [Armando Broja](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/chelsea-transfer-news-broja-maupay-brighton-gyokeres/) and [Ross Barkley](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/everton-fc-news/celtic-transfer-news-barkley-west-ham-chelsea/), so some form of cash-plus-player swap deal could well be on the cards.

### The Latest: Gilmour ‘discussed’

When asked by a Toffees supporter on Twitter whether Chelsea’s Gilmour would be the most likely player to be included in a potential swap deal for Gordon, journalist [Fraser Fletcher](https://twitter.com/FrazFletcher/status/1560314010590859264) revealed that he has been ‘discussed’, adding that Lampard is a ‘huge fan’ of his:

*“He’s been discussed. Frank Lampard is a huge fan and it’s well known he would like him.”*

### The Verdict: Exciting talent

At just 21 years of age, having already [won](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-gilmour/erfolge/spieler/423744) the UEFA Champions League and being capped [15](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-gilmour/nationalmannschaft/spieler/423744) times for the Scotland national team, Gilmour is certainly an exciting talent.

Sky Sports pundit and fellow Scotsman Graeme Souness thinks that he is a ‘[fabulous](https://www.pinkun.com/sport/norwich-city/canaries-roy-keane-frank-lampard-billy-gilmour-praise-8107692)‘ player, and having given him his [senior debut](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/billy-gilmour/debuets/spieler/423744) at the tender age of 18, it is no surprise that Lampard rates him so highly as well.

Of course, it would be a blow to lose Gordon to Chelsea, but if the Blues can get Gilmour and potentially another one or two players out of the deal, it could turn out to be a smart piece of business.
