Bonucci, who has worked with Conte with the national set-up and previously with Juventus, is a firm favourite of Chelsea’s new managerial elect but the Blues will not be landing his signature this summer, as [Bonucci stated he’s focused on his current club.](https://metro.co.uk/2016/03/28/leonardo-bonucci-not-ready-to-follow-antonio-conte-to-chelsea-5781196/)

> ‘If I’ve ever followed Conte, then it’s been to get a coffee at most. I don’t know where he’s going to go, but I’ve signed a new contract at Juventus and I’m only thinking about the Bianconeri.’

The 28-year-old is seen by many as the prime target to replace departing captain John Terry, so it leaves the plans needing a major rethink.
