# Liverpool: Fans slam reports of new five-year deal for Pedro Chirivella

**Liverpool’s Pedro Chirivella has seen his stock rise this year.**

Some Reds fans may have forgotten who he even was before this season, with his last appearances for the club coming during the [2015/16 campaign](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-chirivella/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/242273). However, in 2019/20 he has featured heavily in the cup competitions and he even [captained](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/spielbericht/index/spielbericht/3276469) the side against Aston Villa in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.

His contract is [set to run out](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/pedro-chirivella/profil/spieler/242273) at the end of this campaign and there have been rumours of interest from the likes of [Nantes](https://play.acast.com/s/thetransferwindow/vnid%3A%2F%2Fepisodes%2F27176832%3Fmedia_id%3D28831396) and [Glasgow Rangers](https://play.acast.com/s/thetransferwindow/vnid%3A%2F%2Fepisodes%2F27176832%3Fmedia_id%3D28831396). However, [Neil Jones of Goal.com](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/amp/news/chirivella-offered-five-year-liverpool-deal-as-midfielder-closes-/scgbulo4hpgo1hws6r3bt0t6t?__twitter_impression=true) has revealed that the 22-year-old is still to decide on his future and he has a five-year contract on the table from Liverpool.

Many of the club’s supporters appear to be totally perplexed as to why he has been offered a new deal. They have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts and you can see some of the best comments from the social media platform below:

> Yes offer Lallana a contract extension worth £125k/week and then cry about not having money for Werner. My God. This club does my head in at times. Just get rid of guys who just make up squad numbers and get the German in.
