# Manchester City: Fans react to Newcastle’s Oleksandr Zinchenko interest

**Newcastle United will look to sign Manchester City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko on loan during the January transfer window, according to [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10244211/Oleksandr-Zinchenko-Newcastles-list-targets-January-window.html).**

As to be expected, the exit rumour has had plenty of City supporters talking on social media.

Zinchenko, who has been hailed as [‘incredible’](https://www.mancity.com/citytv/interviews/2019/february/man-city-pep-guardiola-press-conference-west-ham-part-one) by Pep Guardiola, has been at the Etihad Stadium since [2016](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oleksandr-zinchenko/profil/spieler/203853) and has made [106](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oleksandr-zinchenko/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/203853/verein/281) appearances in sky blue.

He [started](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oleksandr-zinchenko/leistungsdaten/spieler/203853) in midfield against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, but the Ukraine international has only made [two](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oleksandr-zinchenko/leistungsdaten/spieler/203853) Premier League appearances (both as a substitute) during the current campaign.

[The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10244211/Oleksandr-Zinchenko-Newcastles-list-targets-January-window.html) shared a story on Thursday, suggesting that Newcastle will attempt an ambitious loan deal during the winter window for the 24-year-old.

Zinchenko has been [reluctant](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10244211/Oleksandr-Zinchenko-Newcastles-list-targets-January-window.html) to leave City in the past and is under contract until [2024](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/oleksandr-zinchenko/profil/spieler/203853), but it seems as if Eddie Howe’s side will look to seal a temporary deal over the coming months.
